Friction losses are an important consideration when sizing pipes for fluid flow. This EngineeringPaper.xyz sheet below shows how to calculate friction loss (in head loss or pressure drop) using the Darcy-Weisbach equation. This example sheet makes use of many advanced features of EngineeringPaper.xyz, including the built-in CoolProp fluid properties and the ability to include a Python code cell to define a custom function (needed to solve the implicit Colebrook equation to obtain the friction factor).
